Take Care of Your Bathroom Humidity
Bathrooms are notoriously the most humid area in the house and for good reason. The problems occur when the humidity isn’t managed well and lead to major aesthetic and health problems in the future. Tussel Home Remodeling, one of Strongsville, Ohio’s preferred bathroom renovation experts, has seen and fixed numerous humidity issues and below are a few common options to solve this problem.
Air flow is key to managing your bathroom’s humidity and the exhaust fan is the first thing inspected. If you don’t have one, get one. If you do have one, make sure the fan is working properly. Sometimes the fan is older and not able to keep up with the humidity levels. A simple exhaust fan upgrade will fix the problem. If you need more air circulation and want to keep the noise of the fan down, we can install an inline blower that will help move the air inside the exhaust vent and keep the noise inside the bathroom to a minimum. Sometimes, like in kids’ bathrooms, we like to connect the exhaust fan with the light switch so we don’t forget to use the fan and build up unwanted moisture.
If you can’t get a duct installed to the exterior of your home because the bathroom is not close enough to an exterior wall, there’s the option of a recirculating fan. Instead of removing the air from your bathroom, the recirculating fan passes the air through a filter to remove any mold spores and bacteria. This option is not as effective as removing the air, but can make a difference in lowering the musty presence in a humid bathroom.
